Preble Street is hiring As-Needed Staff at Florence House in Portland, Maine. This 24-hour program provides emergency shelter, safe haven, and 25 studio apartments based on the Housing First model. Responsibilities include coverage, client outreach, safety, building security, crisis intervention and program support.

Preble Street is hiring As-Needed Staff at Florence House. Florence House is a comprehensive program designed to meet the needs of women experiencing homelessness.

This 24-hour program includes an emergency shelter, safe haven, and 25 studio apartments based on the Housing First model.

Responsibilities include

• providing coverage
• client outreach
• maintaining client safety
• monitoring security of the building
• providing crisis intervention and support
• supporting program needs and activities

As-Needed positions are ideal for those who are flexible, enjoy engaging with people, and prefer fast-paced work. Shifts vary in length; and will include evening, awake overnight or weekend hours.

Qualifications: Requirements include

Compensation

As-Needed positions have an hourly wage of $21.62 and work a maximum of 28 hours per week.

Employees working in direct service roles in coverage programs are paid an additional $1.00 per hour for all hours actually worked in such programs between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00pm. Between the hours of 10:00pm and 7:00am (overnight) a $2 per hour differential is paid.
