Job summary

Preble Street is hiring As-Needed Staff at Florence House in Portland, Maine. This 24-hour program provides emergency shelter, safe haven, and 25 studio apartments based on the Housing First model. Responsibilities include coverage, client outreach, safety, building security, crisis intervention and program support.

Shifts vary in length, including evening, awake overnight, or weekend hours. We encourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply and value lived experiences of diverse communities.

Qualifications

• a positive regard for clients accessing services for homelessness and poverty
• the ability to establish boundaries and set limits with a diverse population
• strong communication skills
• the ability to work as part of a team
