Job summary

Flowers for Dreams is seeking a Floral Studio Processor to support our Chicago floral team. The role involves receiving, care, and organization of fresh materials for production, with a focus on quality and efficiency.

This position is part-time hourly to start, working Mon–Fri with some weekends and peak holidays in the early mornings. You’ll be part of a growing craft-flower movement with generous benefits only for full-time staff, and you will report to Dan Hogan, Studio Manager.

Qualifications

• Able to organize and work with a team.
• Collaborates and communicates easily.
• Extremely detail oriented and able to multitask.
• Level headed in high volume environments.
• Able to stand, walk, reach, climb, kneel and crouch.
• Able to regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds.
• Floral processing and receiving experience (2-3 years).
• Floral variety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist with receiving, quality assurance and floral care for incoming daily fresh shipments and deliveries.
• Assist with addressing quality, excess, and accuracy of inbound fresh product.
• Assist with organizing all fresh materials for production teams.
• Assist with fresh floral maintenance and cooler sanitation.
• Check in raw product in internal processing/receiving list.
• Delegate responsibilities to the other team members each day on the processing team.
• Maintain raw product organization within coolers and open air products.
• Daily bucket and vase sanitation.
• Additional prep and cleaning duties.

We are seeking a hard working, efficient, and adaptable Floral Studio Processor to support our Chicago floral team. The Studio team works closely with the Purchasing/Buying department and Operations/Productions teams (Weddings, Events, and Daily Deliveries) to ensure proper receiving, care and maintenance for our perishable inbound product This individual keeps the fresh portion of our facility running smoothly to meet operational needs.

• Computer proficient (MAC)

• 2-3 years in floral processing and receiving

• Floral variety knowledge

• Bilingual, (english/spanish)
