Job summary

Kroger Florence is seeking a customer-focused team member to assist in floral design and merchandising and to provide excellent service at the Florence, OR location. You’ll greet customers, handle orders, and help maintain displays and inventory with a strong emphasis on safety and cleanliness.

Responsibilities include assisting with customer requests, operating a cash register, and supporting department decoration and organization. Reliable attendance and a team-player attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins.
• Ability to multi-task, set priorities, present information professionally, and work with all levels of the organization.
• Personal initiative and follow-through to completion.
• Experience in grocery retail and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist and greet customers promptly and provide great service.
• Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
• Help design and create floral arrangements and/or other items to fill customer orders.
• Package orders effectively, safely and efficiently.
• Keep merchandise and supplies in their proper areas.
• Maintain customer records and files properly.
• Assist customers in locating and selecting items.
• Handle telephone calls and orders promptly and courteously.
• Assist in decorating and merchandising the department.
• Keep carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas and well organized.
• Keep floors clean, safe, and free from clutter.
• Maintain plants, process and prepare flower arrangements and fill balloons.
• Maintain proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality and proper space allocation for merchandise.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws.
• Operate cash register in accordance with company procedures, as applicable.
• Maintain flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
