Job summary

ShopRite of Stirling in Stirling, NJ is seeking a Floral Clerk to deliver a great customer experience in the Floral Department, pricing, stocking and rotating merchandise, and maintaining a neat, attractive display. This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and interact with customers in a friendly manner.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand English.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to work with fresh, dried, and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances.
• Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to work all assigned shifts and comply with attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain department sanitation and QA standards, including securing helium tanks, sweeping, mopping, removing cardboard and refuse as needed.
• Operate a baler and compactor.
• Greet customers and assist with balloons, wrapping, pricing merchandise.
• Follow procedures for receiving, dating, storing, pricing, restocking products.
• Be knowledgeable about flowers and plants and related merchandise.
• Keep display cases stocked and attractively presented.
• Handle damaged products per policy and control damaged goods.
• Unload trucks and transport merchandise to Floral Department (up to 50 lbs).
• Check refrigeration equipment for proper performance and report issues.
• Follow safety rules and company policies including QA and HAZCOM.
