Job summary

Ritsema Associates seeks a Flooring Foreman to lead on-site flooring projects, ensure safety, manage crew and materials, and coordinate with the superintendent and PMs for timely delivery. You will supervise staff, track progress, and maintain high craftsmanship on commercial interiors projects.

Proven carpentry and flooring experience, strong communication, and a commitment to safety are essential. This role offers year-round work and comprehensive field training within a worker-owned company

Qualifications

• Must be able to read tape measures and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Basic math skills are required for measurements and quantities.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship is essential.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for site coordination and teamwork.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a crew on construction sites.
• Must provide and maintain personal hand tools (employer-provided tools excluded).

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations to ensure flooring projects are on time and within budget.
• Attend startup meetings with superintendent and estimator/PM to review labor needs and jobsite conditions.
• Conduct daily huddles and toolbox talks to set goals and assign tasks.
• Record daily accomplishments and compare to plan to gauge team performance.
• Manage labor needs and communicate changes to the superintendent.
• Accurately record all labor hours and personnel assignments.
• Coordinate material and equipment needs and place timely orders with the office.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site and serve as primary on-site contact with general contractor.
• Resolve scheduling issues directly on-site when possible.
• Attend weekly progress meetings and document all extra work with signed field orders.
• Track equipment delivered to site and ensure return; reconcile inventory periodically.
• Coordinate job closeout by organizing materials and scheduling final walkthrough.
• Proficient in the use of flooring tools, mechanical tools, and sanding equipment.
• Capable of completing new flooring installations and working collaboratively with team members.
• Lead by example in professionalism, dependability, and safety practices.

Compensation :

$25 – $35 per hour.
Sign on bonus of $2000 included.

Purpose

We are seeking a skilledFlooring Foremanto serve as the on‑site leader overseeing and managing specific assigned construction projects. The Flooring Foreman is responsible for ensuring all work is completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with project specifications and timelines. This role requires hands‑on leadership and effective coordination of various construction activities, including supervising staff, managing materials and equipment, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations to ensure flooring projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Attend project startup meetings with the superintendent and estimator/PM to review labor needs, special-order items, and jobsite conditions.
• Conduct daily huddles and toolbox talks to set goals, assign tasks, and track progress.
• Record daily accomplishments and compare them to planned goals to evaluate team performance.
• Manage labor needs proactively and communicate changes to the superintendent.
• Accurately record all labor hours and personnel assignments.
• Anticipate material and equipment needs and place timely orders through the office.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site throughout the project.
• Serve as the primary on‑site contact with the general contractor’s foreman or project manager.
• Resolve scheduling issues directly on‑site when possible.
• Attend weekly progress meetings and represent the company professionally.
• Document all extra work and obtain signed field work orders or extra work sheets before beginning.
• Track all equipment delivered to the site—company-owned or rented—and ensure it is returned.
• Periodically request and reconcile equipment inventory with actual on‑site assets.
• Coordinate job closeout by organizing materials and equipment for pickup and scheduling a final walkthrough with the superintendent.
• Proficient in the use of all flooring tools, mechanical tools, and sanding equipment.
• Capable of completing new flooring installations and working collaboratively with team members.
• Lead by example in professionalism, dependability, and safety practices.

Physical Requirements

• Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Must pass a pre‑employment physical and drug screen.

Travel Requirements

• Reliable transportation required to travel between job sites
