Job summary

Floor & Decor is seeking a Design Consultant to greet customers, schedule appointments, and provide expert advice on tile, wood, stone and accessories for residential and commercial projects.

You will design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions, manage multiple projects, and collaborate with store leadership to meet sales goals while staying aligned with company design standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience
• Degree in Design is a plus
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills
• Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
• Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers and support design walk-in needs
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through networking and referrals
• Provide tile, wood, stone and accessories advice for residential and commercial projects
• Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions
• Manage multiple customer projects with accuracy, timeliness and follow-up
• Use company communication tools and emails consistently
• Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation
• Support company initiatives and stay current with design trends
• Understand and use design applications (Salesforce, Online Scheduler, MyProject)
• Perform other duties as assigned
