Job summary

UFP Industries in Town of Sidney, NY is seeking an Assembler I to fabricate component parts and assemble finished products per customer specifications. You will secure and prepare required parts and supplies for the operation.

Responsibilities include setting up work area, following instructions, operating hand tools, inspecting quality, maintaining a clean, safe work environment, and recording production data. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• No minimum experience required; 6 months of manufacturing and assembling experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Fits parts together in accordance with prescribed instructions and quality standards.
• Operates hand tools as required to complete the assembly process.
• Stacks completed products following established procedures; may cover, label, and band components.
• Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
• Completes pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
• Maintains production records as required.
• Checks materials and finished products to ensure they are compliant with standards.
• Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
• Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Hourly Pay Range: $17.00/hour dependent on experience
