Job summary

Parkridge Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Floor Technician II to care for resilient flooring and carpet across the hospital. You will support Hospitality Associate and Environmental Services tasks as needed while maintaining safe, clean floors.

The role emphasizes operation of floor equipment, chemical handling, infection control, and scheduling to sustain a high standard of cleanliness for patients and staff alike.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ years’ experience for floor care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain flooring in patient and non-patient areas to a high standard.
• Operate floor equipment (vacuum, burnisher, scrubber, carpet extractor).
• Follow floor procedures: dust mopping, mopping, stripping, finish application, burnishing.
• Ensure proper signage for wet floors and hazards.
• Handle chemicals per infection control policies and PPE guidance.
• Maintain floor equipment and report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Maintain daily/weekly/monthly floor maintenance schedules.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Responsible for the floor care of all resilient flooring and carpet throughout the hospital. Performs general Hospitality Associate, Environmental Services I duties when needed.

• Operational knowledge of all floor equipment to include vacuums, burnishers, scrubbers, wet vacs, carpet extractor, imop.

• Knowledge of floor procedures including dust mopping, mopping, stripping, application of floor finish, burnishing.

• Operational knowledge of all floor chemicals used in the hospital.

• Operational knowledge of floor pads used for daily maintenance, burnishing, and stripping.

• Ensure proper signage is placed at the appropriate locations when hazards (i.e. wet floor warnings) are plausible.

• Responsible for proper handling of all chemicals as well as following proper infection control policies and proper PPE use.

• Demonstrates a knowledge of equipment used to maintain and clean floors. Can identify mechanical issues with the equipment to be reported timely and appropriately.

• Responsible for cleaning and maintaining flooring in patient and non-patient areas, offices, common areas, hallways, and common area rest rooms to a high standard.

• Maintains a daily, weekly and monthly floor maintenance schedule.

• Responsible for the care and cleaning of all floor equipment

What qualifications you will need:

• HS Diploma or equivalent preferred

• 1+ years’ experience for the care and maintenance of resilient floors preferred

Parkridge Medical Center is a 270+ bed hospital. We are near downtown Chattanooga. We feature comprehensive diagnostic, medical, and surgical services. These services include cardiovascular surgery and cancer treatment. These services include intensive care, orthopedic and spine surgery, and rehabilitation. The facility includes a state of the art neurosurgery program. Patients also have access to OB-GYN services. Patients have access to a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
