Job summary

Encore Wilmington seeks an experienced Floor Technician to perform maintenance across apartment buildings, clubhouses and common areas. The role runs Monday through Friday 8am-4pm with every other weekend 7am-3pm, supporting a clean and safe living environment for residents.

Responsibilities include floor stripping, waxing, buffing, and equipment upkeep, plus assisting with supplies and general housekeeping tasks. A high school diploma and at least one year in a related setting are preferred.

Encore Wilmington Is Seeking An Experienced Floor Technician

Monday through Friday 8am-4pm and every other weekend 7am-3pm

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for floor maintenance of apartment buildings, clubhouse, and all other common areas of community.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Maintain all floors of common areas, to include carpet, ceramic tile and vicinity.
  • Strip wax from floors.
  • Buff floors.
  • Maintain floor equipment.
  • Assist supervisor with inventory and ordering of supplies.
  • Clean all trash rooms.
  • Assist housekeepers with annual cleanings.
  • Notify supervisor of any and all repairs that may be needed, concerning floors and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work and storage area. Dispose of debris and defective materials.

Supports creating a culture where the business decisions made in this position, along with individual employee engagement, drive top-line revenue and occupancy.

GENERAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assume accountability for data contained in the employee handbook.
  • Assumes accountability for compliance with Federal, State, and other regulations within scope of control and of which informed.
  • Observe infection control procedures.
  • Follow Residents’ Rights policies at all times.
  • Observe all community policies and procedures.
  • Accept assigned duties, instructions or correction in a cooperative manner, voicing concerns or disagreement in a professional manner through established chain of authority according to state procedures.
  • Perform incidental housekeeping and maintenance tasks as may arise during the course of regular duties, in order to maintain a clean, safe, pleasant environment for residents, visitors and staff.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned in an effective, timely and professional manner.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of one year experience working in apartment/rental or healthcare environment preferred
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION OR OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Doctor’s statement verifying free from communicable disease, if applicable to your state
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • The ability to speak, read and comprehend the English language
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Good inter-department communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to be available for any/all emergencies regarding the community
  • Must demonstrate an interest in working with senior population
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed
