Job summary

Elderwood at Williamsville is seeking a full-time Floor Technician to maintain cleanliness of all flooring surfaces in the facility. Prior maintenance experience in a healthcare setting is required, including floor care practices and equipment.

Responsibilities include scrubbing, extracting, refinishing and buffing floor surfaces, operating equipment safely, and following safety protocols. The role supports a clean, safe environment for residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English at an intermediate or higher level.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Janitorial/Environmental Services experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Maintains all floors, including stripping, refinishing and daily maintenance of various floor types and surfaces.
• Operates equipment such as extractor, auto-scrubber, high-speed buffer, shop vac, buffer, vacuum, pressure washer and steam machines safely.
• Regularly empties refuse and ensures entrances are clean and well-maintained.
• Follows cleaning procedures in a safe manner.
• Completes assignments timely and as scheduled.
• Maintains equipment in good working condition and stores after use.
• Inspects equipment and notifies supervisor of malfunctions or repairs needed.
• Inventories supplies and requests items as needed.
• Performs indoor and outdoor work as assigned.
• Treats residents with respect and kindness and observes residents' rights.
• Attends in-services and meetings as required.
• Follows safety rules to ensure the general safety of staff, residents and visitors.
• Utilizes electronic timekeeping system as directed.
• Arrives on time and works as scheduled.
• Follows dress code and uses name tag at all times.
• Supports Elderwood’s mission, vision and values.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or administrator.

Overview

Elderwood at Williamsville is searching for a full-time Floor Technician to maintain cleanliness of all flooring surfaces in the facility. Prior maintenance experience in a healthcare setting is required, specificallyincluding floor care practicesand equipment.

At Elderwood at Williamsville the Floor Technician performs routine floor care including, but not limited to, scrubbing, extracting, refinishing and buffing of floor surface while maintaining cleanliness and standard safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Maintains all floors, i.e. stripping refinishing and daily maintenance of various floor types and surfaces.
• Properly and safely operates various pieces of equipment such as extractor, auto-scrubber, hispeedbuffer, shop vac, side-to-side buffer, vacuum, pressure washer, wheelchair washer, steam machine, etc.
• Regularly empties refuse/waste as instructed.Ensures that all entrance ways are clean and well-maintained.
• Follow cleaning procedures in a safe manner.
• Completes all assignments timely and as scheduled.
• Maintains equipment in good working condition and stores in designated location after eachuse.
• Inspects equipment regularly to ensure all pieces are in proper, safe working condition; notifiessupervisor of any equipment malfunction(s) and/or repairs needed.
• Inventories supplies and requests items from supervisor as needed.
• Performs work both indoors and outdoors as assigned.
• Treats residents with respect and kindness and observes rights of residents.
• Attends in-services, departmental meetings, and other meetings, as required.
• Performs all job duties according to safety rules and practices required for this job position, andas required to ensure the general safety of staff, residents and visitors of this facility.
• Utilizes electronic timekeeping system as directed.
• Arrives to work on time, regularly, and works as scheduled.
• Recognizes and follows the dress code of the facility including wearing name tag at all times.
• Follows policy and procedure regarding all electronic devices, computers, tablets, etc.

• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor, management staff or Administrator.
