Job description

Job Summary

Floor Technicians will be responsible for overall floor maintenance and care, completing assigned floor care projects in office spaces, general areas, restrooms, entrance ways, stairwells, and elevators. They ensure equipment is kept in proper working order and have a working knowledge of floor care chemicals. The schedule is typically overnight but must be flexible based on event start and end times.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance checks on all floor maintenance equipment before and after shifts.


• Perform floor care including routine mopping (dry and damp), buffing, burnishing, vacuuming, shampooing, bonneting, carpet extraction, stairwell and upholstery care.


• Report damage or areas needing further attention to management.


• Complete other duties as assigned, including dusting, routine restroom and building cleaning.


• Interact professionally with building staff, clients, guests, supervisors and corporate staff.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.


• 1–2 years of related work experience.


• Knowledge of materials, methods, supplies, equipment, implements and devices used in cleaning a building or venue.


• Ability to understand English and follow oral and written instructions.


• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.


• Team player, ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.


• Physical requirements: push, pull, bend, squat and lift up to 30 lbs.; move efficiently around the venue for extended periods; walk, ride, climb stairs.


• Ability to work extended and flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.


• Ability to maintain good business relations with all employees and managers in other departments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a cleaning environment for a large facility or venue.
