Job summary

Velociti Services seeks a dedicated Floor Technician to maintain hard surfaces and carpets across offices, lobbies, entrances, and other public spaces, including break rooms. You will strip, wax, buff, shampoo, extract, and bonnet floors while prioritizing safety and guest satisfaction.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of floor care experience, and proficiency with buffers, extractors, wet vacuums, pressure washers, and auto scrubbers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of floor care experience.
• Experience stripping, waxing and burnishing floors.
• Experience operating floor care equipment (buffer, extractor, vacuums, pressure washers).
• Janitorial or facility labor experience preferred.
• Team player with good customer service.

Job description

Job Description At Velociti Floor Technicians are responsible for the overall floor maintenance of hard surfaces and carpet (stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction & bonneting) of areas that include offices, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells, and other public places such as break rooms.

Ideal Candidate Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent education.
• Minimum 1 year experience in floor care.
• Knowledge of how to strip, wax, and burnish floors with minimal to no assistance.
• Knowledge and experience operating various pieces of equipment such as high-speed buffers, extractors, wet vacs, pressure washers, and auto scrubbers.
• Janitorial or laborer experience in a facility setting is preferred.
• Must be a team player and committed to working in a quality environment.
• Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills.

Key Accountabilities

• Perform preventative maintenance checks on all equipment before use
• Before beginning work, secure the work area and post safety notices for other space users.
• Floors care, including routine mopping (dry and damp), buffing, and burnishing on hard surface floors and stairwells.
• Vacuuming, shampooing, bonneting, and extracting carpets, stairwells, and upholstery
• Wall cleaning
• Dusting (high and low)
• Routine restroom cleaning
• Routine office and break room cleaning
• Maintenance of floor care equipment
