Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Floor Technician in Manchaca, Texas. This position requires performing various floor care functions and environmental services, including waxing, stripping, and buffing floors according to established standards. Candidates should have strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team. The position offers compensation of $17.00–$18.00 per hour with a schedule from Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. Comprehensive benefits are included.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors: tile, carpet, and brick flooring.
  • Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Fill in during staff shortages, such as in custodial, recycle, or maintenance.

Skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Job Overview

The Floor Technician will be responsible for safely performing assigned floor care functions based on standards and procedures, performing environmental services as needed, and performing floor care such as waxing, stripping, buffing, and other contractual duties according to regulations.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures and stop at risk behaviors in others and self.
  • Work with other employees in a team to complete assignments.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules.
  • Take direction and respond to supervision.
  • Communicate with lead, supervisor, co‑workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
  • Fill in during staff shortages, such as in custodial, recycle, or maintenance.
  • Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items.
  • Use proper personal protective equipment required for assigned tasks.
  • Present a professional appearance and conduct.
  • Understand customer service and satisfaction.
  • Understand reporting systems and the environment.
  • Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
  • Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors: tile, carpet, and brick flooring.
  • Complete work assignments in a timely manner.
  • Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
  • Use and maintain equipment properly; operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely.
  • Always observe safety precautions, using safety signs "wet floor".
  • Work without normal supervision.
  • Report safety hazards as appropriate.
Educational and Experience Requirements

No education requirement; 6 months to 1 year experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates and Licenses

May be required to have a valid driver’s license, complete all safety and task training certification, and be forklift certified.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team.
  • Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.
  • Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Frequent requirement to sit and talk or listen.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
Compensation and Shift

Monday–Friday 3:00 PM–11:30 PM.

$17.00–$18.00 per hour.
