UNC Health Care is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services team member to provide high quality cleaning across assigned areas, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patients and staff. Day shift, onsite, 40 hours per week.

The role emphasizes timely completion, cooperation with colleagues, and adherence to safety protocols, including waste removal and linen handling as part of daily operations.

• Certificate of completion Hospitality Training.

Responsibilities

• Provides high quality, timely, safe, professional cleaning of assigned areas.
• Keeps all floors in the building at their highest quality appearance possible.
• Removes soiled linen to the main linen room on the dock.
• Performs upholstery cleaning in assigned areas, elevator tracks, stairwells, and assists in room setup/break down as needed.

Summary:
Provides high quality, timely, safe, professional, efficient cleaning of assigned areas. To keep all floors in the building at their highest quality appearance possible. Communicates and cooperates between/among all our customers internal and external in meeting our mission of providing a clean and safe environment and outstanding customer service at all times by removal of waste streams in the house promptly and safely. Remove all soiled linen as needed to keep in route to main soiled linen room on dock. Performs upholstery cleanings in areas assigned, elevator tracks, stairwells, and assist in all house set ups/break downs of rooms.

Responsibilities:
Patients and families, associates, other departments' personnel are served in providing our services. Perform duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and hospital. Ensures that contacts with other healthcare team members are friendly, helpful and courteous at all times.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
Minimum 6 months previous experience in floor care preferred.
LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION
Certificate of completion Hospitality Training
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
Outstanding qualities in all areas of Performance. Consistent grades of 90% on inspections.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Exposed to Housekeeping cleaning agents/chemicals and water frequently. Required Personal Protective Equipment precautions may be exposed to infections and contagious diseases, blood borne diseases. Subject to interruptions. Reference to varying and unpredictable situations. Occasional pressure due to multiple pages, calls and inquiries, emergency and stat situations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
Working, standing, benching, lifting, pushing, pulling of linen, carts and boxes daily.
