Job summary

Touchette Regional Hospital is seeking a Full-time Housekeeping Attendant to maintain floor areas and uphold high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.

The role includes floor stripping and waxing, carpet and upholstery care, and supporting patient care operations. The shift is Days, 7am – 3:30pm, with every other weekend and rotating holidays required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of MSDS sheets and floor care techniques required.
• 2 years of housekeeping or floor care experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a neat, clean environment supporting quality patient care and guest relations.
• Follow master floor care plan for stripping and waxing floors.
• Shampoo and maintain carpets and upholstery; spot clean as needed.
• Perform duties in accordance with hospital policies and safety guidelines.
• Participate in monthly department meetings and training programs.
• Learn principles of regular discharges with a 45–30 minute turnaround.
• Learn principles of terminal and OR cleaning with a 55 minute turnaround.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Functions and Duties

• Maintain a neat and clean environment which is conducive to quality patient care and guest relations for Touchette Regional Hospital .
• have some exposure to Blood-borne Pathogens.
• Ability to make decisions independently.
• Participates in monthly department meetings, in-services and training programs.
• Supports hospital philosophy, mission objectives and personnel policies.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
• Strips and waxes all floors in accordance with master floor care plan.
• Shampoos and maintains all facility carpets and upholstery.
• Shampoo and spot clean upholstery as needed.
• All associates will learn and apply the principles of regular discharges with a 45 30-minute turnaround from start to finish.
• All associates will learn and apply the principles of terminal and OR cleaning with a 55 min turnaround from start to finish.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Experience

• 2 years of job related experience in floor care techniques preferred.
• Two years of Housekeeping Experience preferred.

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

• None.

Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge on how to read MSDS SHEETS.
• Knowledge of Floor Care Techniques required.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to stand 4 to 8 hours.
• Must be able to transport heavy linen carts.
• Must have the ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Must have the ability to use all Floor Care Equipment.
• Must be able to stand extreme temperatures.
• Medium work; exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or greater than negligible up to10 pounds consistently to move object.
• Required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for light work.
• Mentally able to understand and carry out oral and written commonsense instructions.
