Job summary

Cantex is hiring a Floor Technician to perform scheduled floor care tasks and related cleaning duties as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor. Responsibilities include mopping, sweeping, dusting, washing windows, carpet care, and general cleaning of furniture and equipment.

Qualifications emphasize Floor care experience, institutional housekeeping familiarity, and ability to use floor-care equipment, plus strong English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains all floor surfaces.
• Buffs, waxes, and strips floors; top scrubs as directed.
• Extracts and vacuums carpets as directed by Supervisor.
• Uses proper chemicals and equipment.
• Reports repairs to Supervisor or maintenance.
• Requests needed supplies and equipment from Supervisor.
• Identifies and corrects safety hazards and follows safety rules.
• Attends weekly in-services and complies with Patient Care Management Systems.
• Ensures patient/resident safety and performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The overall purpose of the Floor Technician position is to perform scheduled floor care tasks as may be assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor. This position may also mop, sweep, dust, wash windows, shampoo and vacuum carpets, arrange furniture, etc. and generally clean furniture, equipment, fixtures and hardware.

• Experience in Floor Care.
• Experience in institutional housekeeping is helpful.
• Experience in the use of floor-care equipment is helpful.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Essential Functions

• Maintains all floor surfaces.
• Buffs and waxes floors, strips and waxes floors, top scrubs and waxes floors.
• Extracts and vacuums carpets as directed by Supervisor.
• Utilizes proper chemicals and equipment.
• Reports repair needs to Supervisor or maintenance department as appropriate.
• Requests needed supplies and equipment from Supervisor.
• Identifies and corrects safety hazards and abides by safety rules.
• Has reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employees responsibility to enforce it.
• Attends weekly in-services, understands, and complies with Patient Care Management Systems.
• Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
