Job summary

Legacy Nursing in Thibodaux, LA is seeking a full-time Floor Tech to join our family-friendly facility. The role focuses on floor care, safety, and supporting maintenance and resident care as needed.

Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, buffing, waxing, and vacuuming floors; assisting with trash removal and safe equipment storage; reporting hazards; maintaining supplies; and helping with minor resident tasks as directed. Insurance after 2 months and PTO after 3 months are offered.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, buff, wax, and vacuum facility flooring.
• Assist in removing trash from the facility to outdoor receptacles.
• Help maintenance move office or resident items when needed.
• Ensure equipment is in good working order with safety in mind.
• Keep hallways passable, cords cleared, and wet-floor signage used.
• Inform supervisor of issues or hazards with duties or equipment.
• Maintain stock of cleaning supplies (chemicals, pads, filters, etc.).
• Store chemicals and equipment safely.
• Report maintenance issues or hazards promptly.
• Assist with cleaning up spills or messes as they arise.
• Contribute to resident care planning as needed.
• Assist residents with tasks like replacing batteries in remotes or reconnecting call lights/beds.
• Act in ways that promote professional and positive representation of the facility.

Job description

We have a family friendly environment and we are looking to add a full-time Floor Tech to our staff. We do offer insurance after 2 months employment and PTO after 3 months. The duties are listed below:

• Floor techs use equipment to sweep, mop, buff, wax, and vacuum facility flooring.
• Floor techs assist in removing trash from the facility to outdoor trash receptacles/ dumpsters.
• Floor techs may assist maintenance in moving office or resident items around the building when needed.
• Floor techs will make sure equipment is in good working order with resident and employee safety in mind.
• Floor techs will make sure hallways passable, free from cords, and proper signage is used to indicate wet floors.
• Floor techs will inform supervisor of any issues or hazards with regards to their duties or equipment.
• Floor techs will maintain stock of supplies needed to properly clean the floors- chemicals, scrubbing pads, vacuum filters, etc.
• Floor tech safely stores chemicals and equipment.
• Floor tech may report maintenance issues either in the log or if the pose an immediate danger to Maintenance Supervisor or the Administrator.
• Floor techs may assist in cleaning up accidental spills or messes as they arise.
• Floor techs may contribute to resident care planning.
• Floor techs may assist with tasks for residents putting batteries in remotes or plugging call lights/ beds back in.
• Must act in ways that promote professional and positive representation of the facility
