Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Floor Technician in Bloomfield, CT to perform floor care such as waxing, stripping, buffing, and general environmental services. The role requires safe operation of floor-cleaning equipment and adherence to SBM policies and customer service standards.

The position handles tile, carpet, and brick flooring, with a shift from 5:30pm to 12am and hourly compensation. Prior cleaning experience and valid licenses or certifications may be required or preferred.

Qualifications

• No formal education required; 6 months to 1 year experience preferred.
• May be required to have a valid driver’s license and safety certifications.
• Forklift certification may be required; safety training certificates may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor care tasks: waxing, stripping, buffing, and routine cleaning.
• Operate floor cleaning equipment safely following procedures.
• Maintain clean work areas and report safety hazards.
• Follow all SBM policies and shift instructions; interact professionally with staff and customers.
• Support shift lead by completing punch-list items and covering staff shortages.

# **Title:**Floor Tech# **Job Description:****Job Overview**The Floor Technician will be responsible for safely performing assigned floor care functions based on standards and procedures, performs environmental services as needed, and performs floor care such as waxing, stripping, buffing, and other contractual duties according to regulations.**Roles & Responsibilities**To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned* Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures. Stop at risk behaviors in others and self* Work with other employees in a team to complete assignments* Perform repetitive tasks* Maintain clean work area* Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules* Take direction and respond to supervision* Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner* Fill in during staff shortages, such as in custodial, recycle, or maintenance* Support shift lead in completing punch-list items* Use proper personal protective equipment that is required for assigned tasks* Present a professional appearance and conduct* Understand customer service and satisfaction.* Understand reporting systems, and of the environment* Operate motorized cleaning equipment* Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area* Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors: tile, carpet , and brick flooring* Complete work assignments in a timely manner* Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure* Use and maintain equipment properly* Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely* Always observe safety precautions, using safety signs “wet floor”* Ability to work without normal supervision* Report safety hazards as appropriate**Qualification**To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
