Lakeshirts | Blue 84 is seeking an Art Production Team Lead for Floor Support to connect the art team with the production floor, keep artwork moving on time, and uphold brand standards.

This hands-on leadership role requires coordinating priorities, coaching staff, troubleshooting artwork in Illustrator, and collaborating with Quality Control to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Leadership or mentoring experience; servant leadership

Responsibilities

• Lead and support daily floor-art operations to meet goals and uphold standards
• Attend daily production huddles; review reports; communicate priorities
• Assign and reassign artwork based on deadlines and capacity
• Coach and train team members on responsibilities, safety, policies, and standards
• Collaborate with artists to answer questions and remove roadblocks on handoffs
• Troubleshoot artwork and Illustrator files; coordinate logo updates while protecting brand
• Work with Quality Control to resolve issues and prevent repeat errors
• Review workflows to identify root causes and drive continuous improvement

THE OPPORTUNITY

As our Art Production Team Lead for Floor Support, you'll connect the art team and production floor, keep artwork moving on time, protect production-art standards, and help artists solve issues before they slow the value stream.

This is a hands-on lead role for someone who can organize shifting priorities, coach people, troubleshoot production artwork, and communicate clearly across Art, Production, and Quality Control. You'll use production reports and work orders to assign work, respond to floor needs, maintain brand and art standards, and support continuous improvement. If you're a practical servant leader who knows Adobe Illustrator and thrives in a fast-paced screenprint environment, this could fit you to a tee.

This position is onsite at our headquarters in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.

PAY + SCHEDULE

PAY: $23/hour

LOCATION: Detroit Lakes, MN | Onsite at headquarters

SHIFT: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with availability to respond to evening calls

A TYPICAL DAY | TRAIN + LEAD + PRIORITIZE + TROUBLESHOOT + COLLABORATE

• Lead and support daily floor-art operations so production goals and deadlines are met while art and brand standards are upheld.
• Attend daily production huddles, review production reports and work orders, and communicate the day's priorities to the team.
• Assign and reassign artwork based on deadlines, capacity, production needs, and changing priorities.
• Coach and train team members on job responsibilities, safety expectations, company policies, and production-art standards.
• Partner with artists to answer questions, remove roadblocks, and keep art-to-production handoffs accurate and efficient.
• Troubleshoot production artwork and Adobe Illustrator files, coordinate design or logo updates, and protect brand integrity.
• Work with Quality Control and production partners to resolve artwork or print-readiness issues and prevent repeat errors.
• Review workflows, identify root causes, and improve processes that increase quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery.

SKILLS | PEOPLE LEADERSHIP + PRODUCTION ART + ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR + WORKFLOW MANAGEMENT

• Leadership, coaching, or mentoring experience preferred; a servant-leadership approach and the ability to guide a team toward shared goals are essential.
• Two- or four-year degree in Graphic Design preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant production-art experience.
• Strong Adobe Illustrator skills and practical experience preparing, reviewing, or troubleshooting production-ready artwork.
• Experience in screenprint, apparel decoration, prepress, graphic production, or a high-volume art-to-production workflow is preferred.
• Strong organization and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, interruptions, and deadlines without losing the details.
• Sound independent judgment and practical problem-solving skills; able to make decisions, escalation appropriately, and follow through.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide approachable direction and constructive feedback.
• NIMBLE, reliable, and open-minded, with a demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, quality, and on-time delivery.
