Job summary

Hawthorne Valley Farm Store in Ghent, NY, is seeking a reliable part-time cashier/floor staff member to provide prompt, friendly customer service. The position is approx 28 hours per week with a regular shift from 1pm to 7:30pm, with some weekend days required.

Responsibilities include scanning and bagging purchases, answering questions about policies and products, opening/closing the register, balancing cash, and keeping the front end clean.

Salary Range: $16.00 To $18.00 Hourly

Hawthorne Valley Farm Store is looking for a reliable candidate to fill a part time (appx 28 hrs/week) Cashier/Floor Staff opening. The Cashier's primary role is to provide prompt, friendly, helpful customer service. Part-time employees receive paid sick leave and a 10% discount at the Farm Store.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Check out customer purchases quickly and accurately, using correct prices and departments.
• Become familiar with Farm Store policies and products in order to answer customer questions. Refer unresolved questions or problems to Shift Supervisor or other appropriate staff.
• Bag customer purchases as needed and ask customers if they need assistance.
• Open and close out registers following established procedures. Balance cash drawer at end of shift.
• Maintain front end in clean, orderly condition.

Experience serving the public is preferred but not required. We are willing to train!

The regular shift for this opening is 1pm-7:30pm, flexibility with which days, however some weekend shifts required.
