Job summary

UPMC St. Margaret is hiring a Floor & Project Technician for a full-time evening shift (2:30 PM–11:00 PM) five days a week with alternating weekends and holidays. The role focuses on floor care, cleaning, and environmental service projects to support exceptional patient care.

The position requires a HS Diploma/GED or 1 year of relevant experience, plus EVS training or equivalent. Training on equipment and procedures is provided, with emphasis on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of previous job experience accepted in lieu of HS Diploma/GED.
• Successful completion of the 5-week EVS training program is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes after emergency spill clean up requests.
• Change Shampoo to Extracts.
• Inspect and ensure assigned areas are clean and in good repair; report problems.
• Shampoo assigned carpeted areas.
• Maintain equipment; keep it clean and in good repair; report problems.
• Comply with Hospital/Department policies and procedures.
• Follow safety and sanitation regulations; report issues to shift supervisor.
• Remove all soil, wax, and sealer from hard-surface floors.
• Use chemicals and solutions per Tech Manual.

This full-time position offers a consistent 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM schedule, working five days per week with every other weekend and holiday rotation. Responsibilities:

• Cleans and sanitizes after emergency spill clean up requests.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in order to successfully complete housekeeping duties.
• Ability to use all housekeeping equipment.May in the course of duties be in rooms where medications are stored. No contact with medications is allowed.
