Job summary

DeKalb Health in Merrillville, IN, is seeking a full-time warehouse team member to support production operations by operating material handling equipment, moving components, and maintaining inventory integrity.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use computer systems.
  • Must have basic math skills (with use of a calculator).
  • Must be able to read and interpret weight scales and tape measures.
  • Must be able to lift up-to 25 pounds consistently and 50 pounds on occasion.
  • Must be able to stand for the duration of a 12-hour shift with applicable breaks.
  • RF Scanner and/or ERP system experience is a plus.
  • Regular and timely attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Operate material handling equipment to manage components, WIP, finished goods, and other materials in support of production operations.
  • Prioritize material handling activities in alignment with operation schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisor and team members.
  • Support and perform inventory activities.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Escalate safety, quality, and productivity issues.
  • Execute tasks to production schedules and plans.
  • Handle, maintain, and use food products and equipment to food safety standards.
  • Monitor and report product quality.
  • Label and protect products from contamination.
  • Monitor and report Non-Conforming Food Production and Equipment Conditions.
  • Suggest and participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Train and operate material handling equipment.
  • Mentor/train fellow team members on proper standards and procedures.
  • Complete production reporting in business systems.
  • Comply with HACCP, GMP and Food Safety Standards.
  • Interpret and adhere to all SOPs.
  • Meet daily production KPIs and Objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Prior fork-lift certification or experience a plus.
  • RF Scanner and/or previous ERP system experience is a plus.

EDUCATION
  • Must have a High School diploma or a G.E.D.
