Job summary

Royal Furniture Company is seeking a Floor Person/Day Porter to lift, load, unload and assemble furniture, and perform cleaning and basic maintenance to keep the store in prime condition.

The role requires assisting customers, loading items into customer vehicles, and supporting deliveries as needed, while maintaining a clean showroom and meeting safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift, lower, and push up to 100 lbs on a daily basis.
• Able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive movements.
• Flexible to work retail schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable with strong attendance.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trailers and furniture.
• Assist customers by loading items into vehicles and assisting with deliveries as needed.
• Assemble furniture and ensure showroom fixtures are clean and organized.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures; maintain showroom floor presentation.
• Move furniture to the showroom and assist with inventory control.

Floor Person - Day Porter

Job Summary

The Floor Person/Day Porter position requires lifting, loading, unloading, and assembling furniture. In addition, individual will perform cleaning and basic maintenance duties to ensure a clean and properly maintained store.

Essential Functions

• Load and unload trailers.
• Load furniture and accessories into Customer vehicles.
• Assist with deliveries, as needed.
• Engage customers in a courteous, helpful, and respectful manner; promptly and politely responds to customer inquiries, and customer requests.
• Assemble furniture.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Move and place furniture on the showroom floor.
• Assist with inventory control and processes.
• Keep the showroom clean and organized.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
• Gather and empty trash and dispose in waste receptacles.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
• Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or supplies.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Possess excellent listening skills and the ability to work independently and with a team.
• Perform additional duties that may be assigned at the discretion of management.

Qualifications

• Physical strength and stamina required to lift and move furniture, boxes, and equipment. Must be able to lift, lower, and push 100 lbs. on a repetitive daily basis.
• Individual must be able to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop and reach. on a repetitive daily basis.
• Must be flexible to work a retail schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be reliable as attendance is an essential function of this position.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Starting Wage: $13.50
Full-Time (40 hours per week)
