Job summary

New Vista of the Bluegrass Inc in Louisville, KY is hiring a full-time Floor Manager to supervise Hazelwood ICF staff and ensure safety and rights of residents, with responsibilities across shift supervision and program compliance. The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, 3 years in mental health/IDD, and 1 year of supervisory experience; preferred is an associate/bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or human services.

Working hours are typically 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the safety, welfare, and the preservation of rights of clients.
  • Maintains high visibility on the unit and the work/activity areas of clients and staff of assigned unit.
  • Directly supervises Shift Supervisors, and Direct Support Professionals indirectly. Providing direction, instruction, support, and assistance to ensure job duties and responsibilities of assigned staff are completed in a timely manner.
  • Completes monitoring of client activities across all shifts to ensure client treatment plans and facility policies are followed.
  • Meets with subordinates on a regular basis to share information and provide training regarding client treatment plans and facility policies.
  • Ensure staff attendance at trainings and in-services. Assists Interdisciplinary Team members with training residential staff.
  • Ensures the unit has adequate supplies as needed to carry out treatment plans and orders additional supplies as needed.
  • Ensure consistent and fair application of rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Function as a member of IDT for each client in his/her home.
  • Complete Floor Manager section of the Integrated Assessment for each assigned client at least annually (and more often if/when warranted).
  • Collaborate with unit’s Case Manager to identify community opportunities for individuals to participate in that complement their Enrichment Center classes or interests.
  • Will ensure that client’s personal inventory is completed monthly or as needed. Collaborates with case manger to ensure client has adequate clothing, personal items and a well decorated bedroom.
  • Reviews and monitors to ensure documentation for assigned home is completed. If necessary, takes immediate action of noted concerns.
  • Monitors and oversees all residential services to ensure quality services to the individuals and that the Unit is in compliance with all relevant internal, state, and federal policies and regulations.
  • Will complete staffing schedules on a monthly basis or as needed.
  • Will take part of the hiring process for DSP’s and Shift Supervisors.
  • Learn and follow all policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Human Services
Three years’ experience working in the Mental Health and Developmental Disability field

Required Education and Experience

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional flex hours, evening and/or weekend work may be required.

Supervisory Responsibility

This is a supervisory position. This position directly supervises the Shift Supervisors and is the second-line supervisor of Direct Support Professionals.
