We are looking for an Assistant General Manager to join our leadership team and help guide Ama through its next chapter of growth. You’re passionate about restaurants as places of well-being and expression, and you bring a steady hand to both service and strategy.
Support the Restaurant Director in executing daily floor operations with excellence and consistency
Lead by example during service—present, proactive, and accountable for the guest experience
Oversee service flow, section organization, and team coordination throughout shifts
Support onboarding and training of new team members
Coach team members in real-time to maintain service standards and hospitality tone
Monitor daily logs, shift reports, and basic operational checklists
Assist with inventory organization and service prep readiness
Ensure compliance with labor standards, service procedures, and safety protocols
Uphold Ama’s ethos of thoughtful hospitality, sustainability, and professionalism
Support events and special programming during service execution
Strong passion for hospitality, food, and beverage
Ability to motivate and guide peers on the floor
Clear, confident communication
Service leadership presence
Strong organizational skills
Ability to stay calm and solution-oriented in dynamic environments
Working knowledge of POS systems and service operations
Basic understanding of labor flow and shift pacing
1–3 years of leadership experience in a full-service restaurant (lead server, captain, or supervisor level)
Strong service fundamentals and situational awareness
A leadership style that blends structure and empathy
Reliability, consistency, and strong follow‑through
Interest in sustainability, wellness, and intentional hospitality is a plus
Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
