Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a Floor Maintenance Technician to clean and maintain all flooring types across patient and staff areas. Responsibilities include dust/damp mopping, scrubbing, buffing, waxing, and carpet care using auto-scrubbers and burnishers.

The role emphasizes adherence to infection control, safety, and departmental procedures, with occasional travel to off-site locations and collaboration with Environmental Services leadership.

Qualifications

• Six months experience in floor care and operating floor cleaning equipment.
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform hard surface floor maintenance including dust/damp mopping, scrubbing, buffing, waxing.
• Maintain carpet areas through vacuuming, bonneting, and extracting.
• Operate machines such as auto-scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, scrubbers, extractors, and wet vacuums.
• Conduct high-touch surface disinfection and clean patient areas, offices, labs, and common areas.
• Handle and dispose of medical waste following all safety and infection control procedures.
• Complete other duties as assigned by Environmental Services management.
