Job summary

IFABCORP in Charlotte, NC seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to design, document, and optimize fabrication and assembly processes including stamping, welding, CNC machining, and painting, to deliver on-time production with stable cycle times and quality.

You will own routings, work instructions, tooling, and process capability on the shop floor, lead improvement projects, and collaborate with Quality and Production staff to reduce scrap and lift OEE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Welding Engineering.
• Equivalency: associate degree plus 6+ years hands-on manufacturing engineering experience.
• 3+ years in metal fabrication, stamping, welding, machining, or assembly.
• Ability to write routings, standard times, and shop-floor work instructions.
• Working knowledge of GD&T, weld symbols, and dimensional measurement.
• Strong root-cause/problem-solving discipline with documented results.
• CAD proficiency with SolidWorks, Inventor, or AutoCAD.
• ERP experience with routings, BOMs, and work centers.
• Comfort on the production floor most of the day.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain routings, operation sequences, standard times, and cycle-time models.
• Author and control work instructions, setup sheets, and visual standards at the operation level.
• Select and specify processes, equipment, tooling, fixtures, gauges, and process parameters.
• Design fixturing and workholding; validate through first-article and capability runs.
• Lead process-side root-cause analysis and corrective actions for scrap and defects.
• Support new-part launches and engineering changes on the floor with proper documentation.
• Maintain accurate master data in ERP (Sage 500) and use data to guide decisions.
