Job summary

Ritz Floor & Decor Ltd. is seeking a Floor Covering Installer to join our team. The role requires measuring and cutting surfaces, reading blueprints, and installing carpeting, underlay, and hardwood floors on-site.

Minimum 2 years of flooring experience and a High School education are expected. This permanent, full-time position offers steady hours and hands-on work at customer sites across our service area.

Qualifications

• High School education required.
• 2 years or more of flooring installation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered.
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
• Install carpeting and resilient floor coverings using standard tools.
• Stretch carpeting using knee-kicker or power stretcher and secure it.
• Install hardwood floors using glue, staples or nails.
• Estimate material and labour costs when needed.

Duties:

• Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered.
• Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding.
• Measure, cut and install carpeting on floors.
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
• Stretch carpeting using knee-kicker or power stretcher and secure carpeting to floor or other surfaces using staple gun or other devices.
• Measure, cut and install resilient floor coverings using adhesive, rollers, and other hand tools.
• Install hardwood floors, such as strip floors, block floors or plank floors, using glue, staples, nails, or other means.
• Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings.
• May estimate material and labour costs.
