Millz House in Apple Valley, Minnesota is seeking a dependable Floor Coating Installer. The role focuses on preparing concrete surfaces and installing floor coating systems for residential and commercial customers, typically Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., with overtime based on project schedules.

You will work with grinders, apply coatings, broadcast decorative flakes, and protect customers' property while maintaining quality throughout each project.

Qualifications

• Experience in floor coatings, concrete preparation, flooring installation, construction, or a related trade.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely, read a tape measure accurately, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail, reliable attendance, and the ability to work efficiently without sacrificing quality.
• Willingness to learn multiple installation processes, adapt to changing project needs, and work both independently and as part of a crew.
• Professional and respectful communication with customers and coworkers.
• Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record for operating company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare concrete surfaces with grinders and dust collection; repair cracks and assess conditions affecting installation.
• Install floor coatings: mix/apply, broadcast flakes, remove excess, apply topcoats per specs.
• Protect customer property by masking areas and keeping the worksite organized.
• Ensure quality by focusing on prep, coverage, edges, finish, and cleanup; flag issues.
• Care for tools and equipment; load/unload trucks; follow dust control and PPE safety.
• Assist with assembling and installing in-ground and wall-mounted basketball hoops.
• Assist with measuring, layout, masking, and painting game lines for courts.
• Support sports flooring and other installations; help with deliveries and maintenance.

Floor Coating Installer

Millz House | Apple Valley, Minnesota Position: Full-time Schedule: Typically Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., with overtime as needed based on project schedules. Pay: $22-$28 per hour, depending on experience.

About the Position

Millz House is looking for a dependable, hands-on installer who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys working on a variety of projects. This position's primary responsibility is preparing concrete surfaces and installing floor coating systems for residential and commercial customers.

Primary Responsibilities: Floor Coating Installation

• Prepare concrete surfaces using grinders, dust collection equipment, and other tools. Clean surfaces, repair minor cracks and imperfections, and identify conditions that could affect installation quality.
• Install floor coating systems, including mixing and applying coating materials, broadcasting decorative flakes, scraping and removing excess material, and applying protective topcoats according to project requirements and manufacturer instructions.
• Protect customer property by masking surrounding surfaces, maintaining an organized work area, and preventing damage to walls, doors, landscaping, and other nearby features.
• Maintain quality throughout the project, paying close attention to preparation, coverage, edges, finish consistency, and final cleanup. Communicate problems or unexpected conditions before proceeding.
• Care for tools, equipment, and materials, including loading and unloading vehicles, cleaning equipment after use, maintaining supplies, and following safety procedures for dust control, chemical handling, and personal protective equipment.

Additional Installation and Support Responsibilities

• Assist with assembling and installing in-ground and wall-mounted basketball hoops, including preparing the work area, handling materials, and completing installation tasks with the crew.
• Assist with measuring, laying out, masking, and painting basketball, pickleball, and other game lines with attention to accuracy and clean, consistent results.
• Support sports flooring, wall padding, and other product installations as needed. Help with deliveries, warehouse organization, equipment maintenance, and other related duties as assigned.

Physical and Work Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position involving standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, carrying materials, and operating installation equipment. Work takes place in garages, homes, commercial buildings, outdoor courts, and other jobsites. Candidates must be able to perform the essential duties safely, with reasonable accommodation where applicable, lift at least 75 pounds and use protective equipment.
