Job summary

MedStar Health in Washington, DC is seeking a Floor Technician responsible for the overall floor maintenance of hard surface and carpet areas, including stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction and bonneting in offices, patient rooms, corridors, lobbies and public areas.

You will perform preventative checks on equipment, maintain safety, operate buffers and extractors, perform routine cleaning, and document activities using the pre-programmed tablet for data collection.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years direct experience may substitute education.
• 1 year experience or DES Floor Tech training required.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math.
• Knowledge of floor care processes and chemical handling.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance check on all equipment prior to use.
• Secures the work area and posts safety notices for others.
• Performs floor care on hard surfaces and carpets including stripping, waxing, buffing and shampooing.
• Performs vacuuming, bonneting and extracting of carpets and upholstery.
• Performs wall and dust cleaning in various areas.
• Cleans restrooms and routine offices/classrooms.
• Maintains floor care equipment and documents work activities.
• Performs terminal cleaning with UV in ORs and patient areas using electronic tablet for data collection.
