Job summary

NC State University in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a Floor Technician to perform routine floor care and cleaning tasks across campus facilities. The role requires operating burnishers, auto-scrubbers and carpet extractors, and following established safety procedures.

This full-time position offers a morning shift (4:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m., Monday–Friday). You will strip, refinish and maintain floors, vacuum and mop designated areas, report safety hazards, assist during emergencies, and obtain a NC

Qualifications

Knowledge of cleaning procedures and ability to perform medium to heavy physical work.
Experience with hard-surface floor care and carpet extraction preferred.
Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
Valid driver’s license required; NC license within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Strip, refinish floors, and clean carpets using burnishers, auto-scrubbers, and extractors.
Complete cleaning tasks: vacuum, mop, shower scrubbing, and apply floor finish.
Follow safety procedures and wear PPE, post caution signage.
Identify and report safety hazards and equipment malfunctions promptly.
Assist with emergencies and inclement weather; ensure campus spaces are safe.
