Job summary

United Church of Christ Homes is seeking a Floor Care Technician to work the 7:00am–3:00pm shift in Ephrata. Responsibilities include buffing, stripping, waxing, polishing floors and coordinating with nursing for resident areas.

Applicants should have prior floor care experience and the ability to lift heavy objects, with a focus on safety, infection control, and resident comfort. This is a full-time on-site role with benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous floor care maintenance experience preferred.
• Must be able to push, pull or move 80+ lbs over 300 ft.
• Must lift at least 25 lbs to 3 ft, and move 25 ft.
• Ability to interact tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.

Responsibilities

• Moving and removing furniture, furnishing, equipment, and other objects as required.
• Ensuring equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of each shift.
• Clean assigned work areas and perform infection control procedures.
• Coordinate floor cleaning services with nursing services in resident areas.
• Assist housekeeping and maintenance departments as needed to meet residents' needs.
• Follow policies and procedures for safety, care, and conduct.

Job description

Ephrata Manor is accepting applications for a Full-Time Floor Care Technician to work the 7:00am - 3:00pm shift (Monday through Friday).

Responsibilities include:

• Buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing floors ensuring that appropriate caution/safety policies are used;
• Moving and removing furniture, furnishing, equipment, and other objects as required;
• Ensuring equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of each shift;
• Clean assigned work areas and perform isolation cleaning procedures in accordance with infection control protocols;
• Coordinate floor cleaning services with nursing services when performing cleaning in resident areas;
• Assist housekeeping and maintenance departments as needed to meet residents' needs;
• Comply with proper techniques when mixing chemicals, disinfectants, and solutions used for cleaning, referring to manufacturer's instructions; and,
• Follow UCC Homes' code of conduct, corporate compliance, resident care, and other policies.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in floor care maintenance preferred;
• Ability to push, pull, or move more than 80 lbs a distance of 300 feet;
• Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs to a minimum height of 3 feet and a distance of 25 feet;
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
