Job summary

Grady Health System seeks an Environmental Services Technician Level I to maintain a safe, hygienic care environment and support patient throughput. You will handle cleaning tasks, operate floor care equipment, and assist with infection prevention while interacting with patients and staff.

Preferred candidates have a HS diploma or GED and some Environmental Services experience; strong computer and communication skills help ensure high quality service and teamwork in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of power equipment and floor machines.
  • Ability to use computers and mobile devices.

If you want to make a difference, we want to hear from you.Job SummaryThe environmental services technician level I is responsible for executing the daily duties required to establish and maintain a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment. While executing the assigned tasks, the EVS Tech will have contact with patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff. Responsible for ensuring timely room turns related to patient throughput within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. The environmental services technician, in accordance with organizational standards of quality, is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention and patient experience. Responsible for responding favorably to requests to adjust daily workflow or area assignments to meet facility needs.Qualifications:• High School Diploma or GED preferred• Previous floor care maintenance experience desired• 1-year Environmental Services Experience preferred• Knowledge and skills in the use of power equipment, conventional and high-speed floor machines, carpet cleaning equipment, wet, dry and power vacuum equipment and push sweeper.• Effectively uses computers and mobile devices• Communicates orally or in writing openly and candidly, creates an environment where can do likewise• Respectfully listens to viewpoints and ideas of others• Ability to work without close supervision• Ability to operate necessary equipment/machinesCore CompetenciesThese competencies reflect the values and behaviors expected of all Grady team members, regardless of role.
