Job summary

Masonicare Corp in Wallingford, CT is seeking a Project Housekeeper for day shift, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Every other weekend is required. Must have floor care experience and be familiar with operating floor care machines.

Supports residents with a clean, safe environment and participates in meetings and inservice programs. Responsibilities include floors and carpet care, window and wall cleaning, waste handling, and assisting other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED.
• Experience: Must have floor care experience, and On-The-job Training

Responsibilities

• Maintains departmental policies, safety standards and infection control.
• Follows a schedule; leads cleaning tasks or crews as assigned.
• Empties trash, biomedical waste and recyclables; operates central collection.
• Strips, refinish floors, and cleans carpets; mops floors.
• Washes walls and windows; handles draperies and curtains.
• Assists with patient equipment and furnishings maintenance.
• Moves furniture and sets up for events and programs.
• Performs isolation and terminal cleaning per procedures.
• Communicates with residents/patients with sensitivity to needs.
• Attends department meetings and inservice programs.
• Follows universal precautions and maintains safety.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment for residents and staff.
• Operates vacuum cleaners and floor/carpet machinery.
• Removes window draperies and cleans fabric coverings.
• Assists other departments as needed.
• Performs additional duties as required.
