Job Duties
The Floodplain Program Planner provides technical assistance to local governments in the development, update, and implementation of their local floodplain management programs; supports DCR in fulfilling the responsibilities as mandated in Chapter 6 of Title 10.1 of the Code of Virginia; serves as a liaison between FEMA, local communities, and state agencies; and implements floodplain management initiatives in accordance with program and Division goals to ensure that state and federal mandates and local floodplain needs are met.
