POSITION SUMMARY: Braswell Family Farms in Nashville, NC has an opening for a Flock Service Technician. The Flock Service Technician functions as a consultant and technical adviser to bird growers and egg producers. This individual will monitor the flock records, provide poultry health services, and advise the producer regarding BFF's feeding program and general flock management. Driving Braswell Family Farm’s Mission, Vision and Values by ensuring contract growers are practicing good animal husbandry/welfare and producing quality product in an efficient and safe manner. QUALIFICATIONS:
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure – using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
Must have a valid driver’s license and forklift license
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to adapt to farm work environments which could include cold, heat. Individual will be exposed at times to varying noise levels. Physical expectations include regular walking; using hands and fingers to handle, feel; or reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. Required standing and climbing or balancing. The job occasionally required sitting. The incumbent must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
