Job summary

Legacy Staffing is partnering with a world-class hospital in Avon, OH to hire an experienced Relief Cook. This floating, first-shift role focuses on preparing meals for patients while maintaining quality, safety, sanitation, and dietary standards in a healthcare food service environment.

You will cover AM and PM shifts as needed, with weekend and holiday rotation. The position offers weekly pay and benefits, and onboarding with Cleveland Clinic requirements is part of the process.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year cooking/food handling experience.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must complete onboarding and obtain facility badge.
• Strong reading comprehension and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food for patient meal service.
• Dip, portion and plate food items as needed.
• Operate kitchen equipment, including flat-top grills and ovens.
• Follow recipes and meal preparation instructions accurately.
• Ensure meals meet dietary restrictions and nutritional requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of workstations.
• Follow food safety and infection control standards.
• Demonstrate strong reading comprehension and reading accuracy.
