Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is hiring a Client Office Phlebotomist-Float. This full-time role involves phlebotomy and related lab duties across multiple client sites in the far Western suburbs, including Geneva, Elgin, Sandwich, and surrounding areas.

The position requires 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday 8:30am–5pm with two weekends per month. Float differential is included in the base hourly rate, with opportunities to contribute to a patient-first culture.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certification through a nationally recognized organization or training from phlebotomy school/medical institution or 1+ year phlebotomy experience in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and lab specimen collections per age-related standards.
• Provides post-phlebotomy patient care and follows up on test results with appropriate staff.
• Maintains refrigerator temperatures and QC/QA records; reports issues to supervisor.
• Labels and processes specimens according to protocols and orders physician diagnoses.
• Travel to client sites within the Western suburbs as needed and maintain low cancellation rates.
