Job summary

CenterWell Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Technician 2 to support clinicians in processing prescriptions, managing inventory, and assisting patients during visits at our Kansas City locations.

You will work under a Pharmacist Lead, handling semi-routine tasks and ensuring adherence to policies. A license with the Missouri and Kansas boards is required, along with prior pharmacy tech experience; TB screening will be conducted for selected candidates.

Qualifications

• Must have an active license with the Board of Pharmacy in Missouri and Kansas.
• Experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• This role is considered patient facing and is part of a TB screening program.

The Pharmacy Technician 2 will obtain new prescriptions and prescription refill information. The Pharmacy Technician 2 will report to a Pharmacist Lead and will perform varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. Performs computations. Typically works on semi-routine assignments.

As a Pharmacy Technician 2, you will perform the following:

• Retrieve, count, and measure drugs.
• Assist Pharmacist in price-checking and restocking of drugs.
• Access, input, and retrieve prescription information from computer.
• Refers physicians’ calls and any medical questions to pharmacist.
• May operate a cash register.
• Decisions are typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments.
• Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction.
• Follows standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion.

Required Qualifications

• Must have an active license with the Board of Pharmacy in Missouri and Kansas
• Experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana/Senior Bridge’s Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• CPhT or equivalent

Additional Information

Workstyle: Office Facility

Location: This role will report to two locations depending on the needs of the business. The pharmacies are located inside CenterWell Senior Primary Care clinics where the staff pharmacist will directly interact with the patients and clinic staff members and providers. The pharmacy addresses are:

• State Ave Location: 7527 State Ave Kansas City, KS 66112
• Midtown Location: 301 E Armour Blvd, Suite 2-East Kansas City, MO 64111

Schedule:

• Hours: This is a Regional Support Pharmacist position intended to cover PTO and provide extra coverage as needed.
• Shifts: Monday Through Friday 8:30 AM -5:00 PM CST with a lunch break from 12:30 PM - 1:00 PM CST. The anticipated need is for one 8 hour day per week on average

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$40,000 - $52,300 per year
