Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL, is seeking a Patient Care Tech Float to support nursing teams. The role performs basic patient care under RN supervision, monitors vital signs, assists with daily living activities, and communicates important changes to staff.

The position is 24 hours per week (0.6 FTE), with a focus on flexible staffing and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital setting offering comprehensive benefits and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Nursing students who have completed one clinical rotation, or Certified Nursing Assistant, or Certified Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician preferred.
• CPR – Basic Life Support certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming and eating.
• Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Demonstrates flexibility, organization, and multitasking in stressful situations.
• Acts as liaison between patient care units and other departments.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent
