Job summary

WellMed, part of UnitedHealth Group, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care across the DFW West Team clinics in Burleson and surrounding locations. You will assist physicians and nursing staff, perform basic procedures, and prepare examination rooms while maintaining accurate documentation and infection control standards.

Required: current Medical Assistant certification, BLS, EMR proficiency, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

Current Medical Assistant certification or ability to obtain within 180 days
BLS certification for healthcare providers at time of hire or within 30 days
Proven knowledge of medical terminology
Basic computer literacy including Word, Excel, Outlook, EMR systems
Willingness to travel to various locations as needed
Tuberculosis screening and immunity proof required

Responsibilities

Performs duties within Medical Assistant scope, including specimen collection and basic procedures
Rooms patients and prepares them for examination
Records patient care documentation accurately and timely
Coordinates patient care as directed by physicians and policies
Supports infection control and privacy standards
Performs other duties as assigned
