Job summary

The Wethersfield Public Schools district is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to serve as a Floating School Nurse. This role provides nursing coverage district-wide when a school nurse is absent and offers flexible support at designated schools.

Starting September 2026, the position runs 8:00am to 3:30pm on 188 days, with compensation of $27.00 - $31.00 per hour. The nurse reports to the Building Principal, Nursing Supervisor and Director of Special Services.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut LPN license in good standing.
• Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
• CPR and First Aid certification current.
• Willingness to travel between district schools as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing coverage in any Wethersfield Public School when the assigned nurse is absent.
• Deliver direct nursing care within LPN scope of practice.
• Administer prescribed medications per orders and policies.
• Maintain confidential student health records and report health concerns.
• Support health education, immunization compliance, and health screenings.
