Job summary

Cura, serving hospitals and healthcare facilities, seeks a Floating Chef for our healthcare foodservice team in the greater Pittsburgh area. You will help coordinate and prepare meals for meal service across multiple locations, with home site determined after interviews.

Expect leadership in foodservice operations, compliance with policies, and hands-on meal preparation as needed. This role is onsite with travel primarily within the Pittsburgh region.

Qualifications

• At least two years experience in food service.
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the year.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and direct activities of the food service dept to provide outstanding dining options for assigned units.
• Enforce policies for menu formation, food prep, distribution, service, budgeting, sanitation, safety and staffing.
• Ensure proper temperature, portioning, and quality of meals.
• Directly prepare meals as needed.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add an experienced, skilled Floating Chef to our Healthcare Foodservice team in the greater Pittsburgh Metro area. As a food service support, you will have the opportunity to help coordinate and prepare food for meal service in a variety of assigned locations.

Home site to be determined following interview process.

What you'll be doing:

• Assisting with planning, directing, organizing, and coordinating the activities of the food service department to provide outstanding dining options to each assigned unit.
• Helping to enforce company policies and procedures to provide administrative direction for menu formation; food preparation, distribution, and service; budgeting and purchasing; sanitation standards; safety practices; and staffing and staff development.
• Ensuring proper temperature, portioning, and quality of meals.
• Directly preparing meals as needed.
• Other tasks as assigned.

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

• At least two years’ experience in food service.
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the year.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves:

• At least one years’ experience in a supervisory role.
• Associate’s degree or higher.
