Summit is seeking an experienced Floating Chef for its Corrections team in the Olympia, WA area. You will coordinate and prepare meals for multiple units, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to menus and budgets. This role requires flexibility to travel and work across assigned facilities.

The position emphasizes leadership, meal planning, and hands-on cooking, with opportunities to support administrative functions and staff development in a challenging corrections environment.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in food service.
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the year.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add an experienced, skilled Floating Chef to our Corrections team in the Olympia, WA . As a food service support, you will have the opportunity to help coordinate and prepare food for meal service in a variety of assigned locations.

What you'll be doing:

• Assisting with planning, directing, organizing, and coordinating the activities of the food service department to provide outstanding dining options to each assigned unit.
• Helping to enforce company policies and procedures to provide administrative direction for menu formation; food preparation, distribution, and service; budgeting and purchasing; sanitation standards; safety practices; and staffing and staff development.
• Ensuring proper temperature, portioning, and quality of meals.
• Directly preparing meals as needed.
• Other tasks as assigned.

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

• At least two years’ experience in food service.
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the year.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves:

• At least one years’ experience in a supervisory role.
• Associate’s degree or higher.

Compensation Range

$24.00/hr
