Job summary

CPCD is seeking a Floater Teacher Assistant to support the classroom team across sites, ensuring a safe, healthy, high-quality learning environment for children. The role involves travel between classrooms, assisting with daily routines, observations, and adherence to Head Start and licensing standards.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a CDA or Level II credential, First Aid/CPR within a year, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDA credential or Level II Early Childhood credential required; willing to obtain within 2 years.
• Must obtain First Aid and CPR within 1 year of employment.
• Must have reliable transportation and may travel to other locations.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, TB test, drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Travel to different classrooms/sites as part of regular schedule.
• Assist classroom staff with duties as delegated and accept supervision.
• Support routines and safety protocols; collect observations as directed.
• Maintain a warm, respectful environment and uphold confidentiality.
• Assist with safety restraints and bus rules as needed.
• Follow safety guidelines and CPCD policies during instruction and transport.

Education

High school diploma or GED

CDA credential or Early Childhood Professional Credential Level II

Director Qualification (DQ) Level 3

DQ Level 3 + 12 ECE credits (including Pyramid Plus and EQIT)

Associate Degree in ECE or related field (AA + 24 ECE credits)
