Acelero Learning, Inc. invites applications for a Floater Assistant Preschool Teacher in Georgetown, DE. You will support a Head Start classroom for 3- to 5-year-olds, collaborating with a Preschool Teacher to ensure a positive, structured learning environment.

The role requires communication skills and a passion for early childhood education, with options to pursue CDA credentials or degrees within two years, in addition to a competitive hourly wage and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Great communication and written skills.
• A passion to work with children.
• CDA credentials, or willingness to enroll to complete within two years, or an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in any field, or enrolled in a program to obtain such a degree.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a child-centered curriculum and learning environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation to promote development in all domains for children of all abilities.
• Address challenging behaviors by observing to determine possible causes of the behavior, implementing preventive measures, teaching the child new social and communication skills and partnering with families to support the child at home.
• Document children’s progress and individualize curriculum using observations and anecdotal notes.
