Job summary

Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy seeks a motivated licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to join as a floater, providing coverage throughout our Central Suffolk County region. In this full-time role, your clinic location will vary based on clinic needs and schedule demands—you’ll provide care across all of our clinics in the region.

You’ll work closely with a Physical Therapist to deliver high-quality patient care in state-of-the-art facilities with well-trained support staff and cutting-edge

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of New York or eligible.
• Evaluates a patient's need for physical therapy and develops an appropriate treatment plan.
• Provide appropriate care and treatment to patients based on physician care plan and professional standards.
• Instructs family members, PTA's, Home Health Aides, and other caregivers in physical therapy techniques.
• Mandatory Certifications: First Aid, AED, & CPR Certifications.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in patient care, notifying the supervising PT of matters concerning the patient's condition.
• Follows the Plan of Care established by the PT and practices within state guidelines.
• Exercises sound judgement, care, professionalism and skill in duties.
• Instructs and counsels patients effectively in exercises and recovery.
• Identifies patient needs and exhibits compassion and caring.
• Completes documentation in the EMR to support PT services.
• Records daily notes under direct supervision and co-signature by a PT.
• Provides information to patients by answering questions and requests.
• Helps treat patients by applying ice/heat, assisting on equipment, monitoring motion, and performing prescribed exercises.
