Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is seeking Physical Therapist Aides to join as floaters, covering clinics across Central and Eastern Long Island. You will assist patients, prepare equipment, and support therapists in multiple locations.

Responsibilities include recording therapy exercises, assisting with treatments, maintaining equipment, educating patients, and front desk support. A team-oriented environment and opportunities for growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be able to cover 15-20 minutes from home office; transportation to shifts required.
• Knowledge of Anatomy & Kinesiology.
• Knowledge of therapy equipment used.
• Knowledge of patient behavior and needs.
• Knowledge of proper strengthening techniques.
• Knowledge of restraints and aggressive behavior management practices.
• Ability to complete in-service training.
• Ability to observe, evaluate, and record patient conditions.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Responsabilités

• Serve as a scribe for recording and editing therapeutic exercises under supervision.
• Assist in treating patients by preparing heat/cold packs, pool assistance, guiding exercises and monitoring exertion.
• Ensure operation of treatment equipment via preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Educate patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercises.
• Prepare patients for therapy sessions by welcoming and assisting them.
• Provide information to patients and address questions to alleviate fears.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and protect operations.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment compliant with procedures and regulations.
• Provide equipment and supplies, sterilize and deliver to treatment area; position equipment.
• Prepare treatment rooms per prescribed procedures and protocols.
• Answer calls from physician offices, hospitals, and patients with excellent service.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and place orders as needed.
• Provide front desk coverage and scheduling support; perform other front desk duties.
