Job summary

Avita Pharmacy in Bellaire, TX is seeking a Floater Pharmacist to package and dispense medications in a clinical setting and support physician calls, data entry, and Rx workflow. The role covers activities at the Avita Pharmacy location in Bellaire and may provide coverage at other Texas locations as needed.

You will manage operations, dispense and inventory, guide staff, and collaborate with physicians to review prescriptions for safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Doctoral (PharmD) degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university.
• Pharmacist license in good standing in the State of Texas (TX) required
• Pharmacist license in good standing in the State of Louisiana (LA) preferred but not required
• Completion of an ACPE accredited immunization training program
• 1+ year of full-time retail or clinic pharmacy experience preferred
• 340B experience preferred
• AAHIVP certification preferred
• Certifications in different areas of Pharmacy a plus
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office with the ability to type 30+ wpm
• Excellent interpersonal, customer-service, managerial, and communication skills
• Able to efficiently work, mentor, and supervise staff in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Manage pharmacy operations and maintain high quality pharmaceutical care while filling in for the PIC
• Dispense, order, and maintain inventory in compliance with laws
• Direct workflow of pharmacy staff
• Collaborate with physicians on potential drug interactions
• Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations
• Stay updated on laws and programs
• Consult with clinic providers and admins as appropriate
• Maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA)
• Uphold a professional, customer-friendly workplace
• Perform duties per company policies and values
• Travel reimbursement for travel outside primary work location
• Provide coverage at other TX locations (Dallas, Beaumont, Abilene, McAllen, Harlingen, Brownsville)
• Shifts vary by location Mon-Fri 8AM-8PM

Job description

The Floater Pharmacist packages and dispenses prescribed drugs in a clinical environment and handles incoming physician calls, logs data into the computer, performs Rx workflow processing, and conducts drug utilization reviews.

The position will be based at the Avita Pharmacy located in Bellaire, TX (6800 W. Loop S.) and will provide coverage as needed at additional locations throughout the state of Texas.

About the Role

• Manage pharmacy operations and maintain the highest quality of pharmaceutical care and services while filling in for the PIC
• Properly dispense, order, and maintain proper inventory of drugs and supplies, pursuant to all state and federal laws
• Direct activities and workflow efficiency of the pharmacy staff
• Collaborate with physicians to discuss potential incompatibility issues with patient prescriptions
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to the practice of pharmacy
• Keep abreast of changing laws, regulations, and new pharmacy-related programs
• Consult with clinic providers, administrators, and other personnel as appropriate
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
• Uphold a clean, customer-friendly workplace, and always project a professional and positive attitude
• Perform in accordance with company policies and standards, as well as the spirit of the Company's core values and goals
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Travel reimbursement for travel outside your primary work location
• Additional TX locations to provide coverage as needed: Dallas, Beaumont, Abilene, McAllen, Harlingen and Brownsville
• Shifts will vary based on locations between Monday - Friday, 8AM - 8PM.

About You
